This is a pink-hued blanc de noirs made from Cabernet rather than Pinot Noir. It’s bright and fresh, with pretty citrus, raspberry, cherry, toast and herb flavors at the fore. Clean and zippy on the finish, it’s full and round. Shows that fine bubbly can be made outside its normal varietal parameters. — J.M. (12/1/2003)
